The Parthenon, a masterpiece of antiquity, is the most glorious monument of the Athenian state and continues to cause worldwide awe to date. It was built on the Acropolis of Athens, where the Temple of Athena Nike, the Propylaea, the Erechtheum and other smaller buildings were also built. On the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the most famous in Athens and the most modern in the country, takes place.

DELPHI
Delphi was an ancient Greek city, where the most prestigious and authoritative oracle of the ancient Greek world provided its wise and insightful counsel or prophetic predictions. Delphi is an area with intense tourist traffic, as it is established as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. In addition to these, the European Cultural Center and a number of Monasteries of religious interest are situated nearby. Into the bargain, Delphi is located a short distance of 10 km from Arachova, an important winter destination in Central Greece.
OLYMPIA
Olympia was called Altis, meaning Holy Grove. It was the most glorious sanctuary of ancient Greece dedicated to Zeus. It was the venue of the Olympic Games, which were held in the context of the Olympics. There existed for about a thousand years the ivory statue of Zeus, the work of Pheidias, which was known in antiquity as one of the seven wonders of the world. The most important monuments and buildings of the area of ancient Olympia are: the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the Bouleuterion, the Rector’s Office, the Stadium, etc.
EPIDAURUS
Epidaurus is the most important ancient city regarding the worship of the god Asclepius, while it belongs to the UNESCO world cultural heritage since 1988. There exists the theater of Epidaurus, which is significantly well-preserved with uniquely remarkable acoustics, elements that contributed to the creation of the Epidaurus festival.
KALAVRITA
Kalavrita is a mountain town in the prefecture of Achaia. It has a strong historical past as it participated in both the revolution of 1770 (Orlofika) and of 1821. It was one of the areas that witnessed the harshest Nazi retaliation and atrocities during the Occupation. Kalavrita, today, is a tourist attraction mainly during the winter season, as it has one of the best winter tourism infrastructure in Greece due mainly to the ski-center located there, one of the largest in Greece. Furthermore, other important sights, located nearby, are the two historical monasteries of Agia Lavra and the Great Cave, the Museum of the Kalavrita Holocaust, the Waters of Stygos in Helmos, the Cave of the Lakes, the Gorge of the Vouraikos river crossed by the famous Kaidrimos.
